I made a new friend about a month ago. We had the same probation officer for a while. We’re both still on probation, for different crimes. (See A Dangerously Beautiful Day.)
We went to a Transcendental Meditation introductory lecture on June 6, 2018, at 1pm. Exactly three years to the minute that I had day-one of my training and got my mantra… June 6, 2015.
On Saturday, June 9, 2018, he had 15 days clean, so he qualified to learn on that day. June 9, 2015, was my last day of training. So that made yesterday, June 12, 2018, his last day of training. No one can take that away from him.
I saw something in his eyes when I met him, something so familiar. I wanted to say, “Look at me and tell me if you’ve known me before.”
The world around us is such a mess. That’s considered normal.
Close your eyes, shut it all out, go for something more beautiful that the constant thoughts that bombard us when we aren’t meditating. How is that considered unnatural.
Everything is backward. Everything is going to be OK.
